Mission

Drone Inspektor’s Mission is to provide market-leading data and reporting to identify, analyze, and control fugitive leaks in all operating environments.

Our aim is to reduce asset risk and assist our clients in developing greater internal compliance with environmental regulations.

Our services and team are focused on supporting facilities management with the data needed to quantify, and make informed decisions about, operational risks from hydrocarbon leaks.

Our Mission includes operating safely, delivering the best information technically possible, and seeking ways to generate further insights that can benefit our customers and their efforts to safely and cost-effectively manage their operations.

Operations

We provide Drone-based and Ground-based inspections. We can execute both automated and manual flight inspections.

Our Drone pilots are experienced and FAA 107 Certified, flying proven drone platforms integrated with state-of-the-art imaging and detection instruments for emission surveys.

We gather intelligence above the critical assets to identify the smallest leaks to reduce costs and minimize downtime before they become catastrophic events.

As part of the complete solution, our Engineering Team generates an inspection Report conveying all visual data and a leak analysis. These services allows our clients to see otherwise invisible fugitive emissions in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.

Additional analysis for Safety & Reliability are available for further insights into asset conditions and remedial actions.

Spectrometer

Methane gas (CH4) is a critical greenhouse gas that is a key focus of environmental regulators.

Our drone-based Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectrometer is a long-range detection instrument that can measure volumes as low as 1 part per million at 50 meters.

Methane leaks are located by aiming the infrared laser towards the survey line or target asset by emitting infrared light and examining the reflected light density.

The spectrometer automatically alerts when it detects levels above parameters defined for the project and logs the exact place in patented workflows.

Optical Gas Imaging

Our OGI cameras produce superb and comprehensive imagery of leaks using a unique spectral filter method, which enables us to visualize various hydrocarbons.

The precision of this inspection method satisfies EPA’s OOOOa (“Quad Oa”) inspection requirements and exceeds EPA’s new optical gas imaging requirements.

Our system has become the most effective drone-based hydrocarbon detection method in the world, and an indispensable tool for complex or large footprint energy sector operations.

Inspection Report

After a survey, our Safety & Reliability Engineering Team generates an Inspection Report to characterize leaks and their origins.

This visual and measurement data is processed and analyzed by our Engineering Team to generate reports for leak analysis. These services allow our clients to see otherwise invisible fugitive emissions in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.

We deliver a catalog of information about each leak, including its location, gas components, visuals, and the environmental conditions during the inspection, including:

  • mass of a contaminant per million units of total mass (ppm.m)

  • concentrations of a leaked contaminants

  • thermal images of leaks

  • videos of leaks with corresponding temperature data

  • survey lines

  • 3D profiles

  • tables

  • emissivity

  • distance

  • relative humidity

  • color coded profiles

We build a database of documented leaks that becomes a historical record of the leak progression or stability. This data, information, and historical record become the bases of remedial actions and process evaluations derived from further analysis by our Engineering Team.

Compliance

In the oil and gas petrochemical space, the Petroleum Refinery Initiative has delivered material compliance results for 20 years, including as the impetus for the investment of billions of dollars in improved control technologies and systems by refiners.

Following the monumental emissions reduction and regulatory overhaul of the Petroleum Refinery Initiative in the 90’s, the industry is governed by National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP).

Optical Gas Imaging and Laser Absorption Spectrometer have advanced in both the ability to identify, and quantify, fugitive emissions. As the industry has the opportunity to enhance its leak survey and management with new tools and systems, complying with regulation is now easier and lower cost.

Drone Inspector contributes to the achievement of industry goals such as Net Zero emissions. Our goal is to assist the industry in continued improvement in reduction of emissions and asset management - upstream and downstream.

EPA New Source Performance Standards

In June 2017, the EPA issued final updates to its New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) for the oil and gas industry governing quarterly inspections and recommending OGI as the “best system of emission reduction”.

The updated NSPS for 2019 requires that Owners/Operators of natural gas well sites develop and implement a leak monitoring plan, further recommending OGI for conducting leak surveys.

Safety &

Reliability Analysis

After issuing an inspection report, our Engineering Team can conduct safety and reliability analyses to identify potential hazards & failures.

Our technique is used to anticipate and prevent hazardous circumstances that may potentially result in mishaps or catastrophic events.

We offer clients a gap analysis and generate a plan for how to meet or exceed internal and external safety requirements.

Safety

Quick detection of new or changing leaks makes for fast repairs, lowering operation risk and preventing damage to the environment. Confidence in a safe environment for workers, facilitating internal and external compliance, mitigating regulatory penalties, limiting loss of revenue and product, and a well informed maintenance schedule are all benefits to expect with Drone Inspector.

We identify the smallest leaks before they become catastrophic events. UAV emissions surveys offer remote access to difficult to reach or dangerous areas. Increase the effectiveness of your team, making it safer to complete planned maintenance while lowering the chances of an unplanned operation.

These services significantly reduce operational cost and minimize process downtime, while enabling personnel to work at a safe distance from potential leaks.

Gas emissions can be explosive and/or toxic on their own, and more so if they come into contact with various other compounds. Drone-based optical gas imaging can provide continuous monitoring cycles that detect even the smallest harmful volatile organic compounds, or those that are present only during certain operations.
